The youth of the Mogilev district joined the action “Good to the elders”

The Republican charity event “Good to the Elders” is held within the framework of the large-scale youth volunteer marathon “Dobro.Bel”, organized by BRSM. Collecting firewood, cleaning household plots, collecting fallen foliage, helping to restore order in the house, delivering bags of potatoes and cabbage from agricultural fairs to the elderly to the house - this is not the whole list of areas of assistance of volunteers. Care in action - so the activists of the youth organization themselves determine the leitmotif of the action, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

The next address of the charity event was the village of Kostritsy Mogilev district. With volunteers – activists of the BRSM district committee – we arrive in their cars in a remote village. 11 Garden Street. At the gate, we are met by the owner - 82-year-old Nikolai Ivanovich Vinnikov. As if apologizing to the guests, the man says that once he built this house himself, or rather moved from the Slavgorod district after retirement. They say the places are beautiful: The Dnieper, the forest, and he was a fisherman and a hunter. And now the strength passed, and his son is already a pensioner. But Nikolai Ivanovich is still full of strength: he plans repairs, but he could not disassemble the mountain of old boards at the fence himself - he turned to the village council. They gave the address to the volunteers. And now four comrades - two guys and two girls - are attentively listening to the list of good deeds:

- I still use better boards, the rest should be cut into wood and folded. And girls can collect grapes, apples and pears - a very good harvest, it is a pity if it is lost. And give yourself what you need.

Wife Zinaida Semyonovna also did not expect so many assistants. It is justified that she herself copes: she dug up potatoes under a shovel, prepared a sunset for the winter, and all the animals - three cats and two chickens, which, due to their venerable age, no longer rush almost, but keeps them out of pity:

- Our children and grandchildren live in the city, we did not ask for much help, we just understand that order should be, firewood at the fence should not lie down. But Koli's health began to fail this summer, he just checked out of the hospital, so these guys are good help for us.

Young people talk about themselves. Diana Buzhinskaya works as a geography and biology teacher at the Kominternovskaya Rural School, and Yana Kinishenko as a primary school teacher at the Sukharev School. Dmitry Dobryansky is an engineer at Bair West, which specializes in the development and production of industrial ventilation equipment. And, as they say, team captain Vladislav Konovalov is the first secretary of the Mogilev district organization BRSM:

- We regularly publish in the district newspaper and advertise volunteer initiatives with our phones on our websites. But we're not alone. At the same time, schools and organizations provide supervisory assistance. The number of those who in our area are members of the BRSM, more than 1,600 people. So we are the power! Addresses for good deeds are enough for everyone. Working youth will participate in the action today.

Vladislav says that most applications from lonely pensioners came in the winter. By the way, the young people met while clearing snow-covered paths in the villages. In the summer they ask to mow the grass, fix the fence. Today, many young people are involved in the district Saturday, and many went to the regional holiday "Dazhynki". In the chat, a cry was thrown: who was free, responded.

- The biggest reward is gratitude in the eyes of those whom we help: tea will be drunk, and apples will be sure to treat, - Dmitry Dobryansky admits. - On the eve of the New Year holidays, we hold the action "Chain of Good", in which we give scarves tied by the hands of volunteers, give useful gifts for the Day of the Elderly Person, go to boarding houses and nursing hospitals. My parents live in Shklovsky district, I manage to help them - now in autumn there are enough things in the economy. He who wants to help always has time, and he who does not want to, always has a reason.

The girls not only work as teachers, but also live next door in rented apartments. You can only envy them: each has a two-bedroom apartment in a new building. Diana Buzhinskaya heads the primary cell of BRSM in her school, she is also a class leader:

In winter, high school students cleared snow on the farmsteads of lonely elderly villagers. I think that in words it is impossible to teach a child neither hard work nor respect for elders - only by personal example.

Her friend Yana Kinishenko adds that she does not consider today's help to strangers something outstanding, because it is just human, then she will go to her parents in the agro-town of Rechka and there is also where to put your hands:

- We once came to the area as young specialists, we did not know each other, but quickly became friends. Collaboration and good deeds are very important.

Nikolai Ivanovich and Zinaida Semenovna visibly revived, communicating with young people: they talked about their lives, boasted about the harvest of pears. And it was obvious that there is something that can unite people of different generations - it's warmth.
