Today, students of the professional class of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Secondary School No. 19 of the city of Brest, together with employees of the Brest GOES and the Brest regional EMERCOM, visited a lonely resident of the regional center. They helped with the household, talked with the woman and reminded about the rules of safe behavior at home. Such meetings become an important part of the action, allowing teenagers to see how even a little attention can change a person’s mood.

Emergencies Ministry workers and young rescuers visit elderly citizens to provide necessary assistance on the household and remind about important safety rules in the home. Taking into account the seasonality, close attention is paid to the state of furnace heating, as well as the availability of serviceability of autonomous fire detectors. The event will also take a look at educational institutions, where children will be told about the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Firefighters and the heroic profession of rescuers. A bright focus of the action will be the 25th anniversary of the youth public organization of rescuers-firefighters with thematic events.

- Today we are here to help an elderly woman who lives alone. It is really difficult for her to cope with the household, and I think it is important to support older people. They raised us, gave us a future, and now it's our turn to show attention and care. It’s natural for me – if you can help, you have to help.

- For me, today’s help is very important: when the strength is no longer enough, any support is felt especially. The guys, together with the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, dug up beds, helped to collect grapes - something that I can no longer cope with myself. I believe that the connection of generations must be preserved: work teaches young people to responsibility, and for older people such care is of great importance. I am grateful to the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the guys for their attention and for the fact that they are always ready to respond, the woman said with a smile.
