MTS
the first of the operators provided mobile communication to residents of 8 settlements of the Galichsky district of the Kostroma region. One of the villages that received voice communication and Internet up to 100 Mbps was Chelsma, where the first Soviet fairy tale film was shot. The Russian base station IRTEIA was installed there in the 1800 MHz band.
Russian telecom equipment installed by MTS provides network coverage with a radius of up to 10 kilometers. The base station works in GSM and LTE standards. Now residents of Chelsma, as well as nearby Ababkov, Bunosov, Pochinok, Rebrov, Akulinino, Bogorodsky and Rakhmanovo are available voice and mobile Internet at speeds up to 100 Mbps. Thanks to the launch of the MTS network, residents and guests of the district were able to make calls, use instant messengers, access digital services and stay in touch while traveling around the district.
The village of Chelsma is known not only for its picturesque views of the Galichsky district, but also for its connection with the history of domestic cinema. It was here in the winter of 1938 that scenes were shot for the first Soviet fairy tale film “According to the Pike Order” directed by Alexander Rowe. Rowe's debut picture marked the beginning of a whole genre of film fairy tales in the USSR. The history of the film is still part of the cultural life of the area. In Galich and Chelsm there is a excursion program "According to the pike order", and in the House of Folk Art of the Galich district a special exhibition hall dedicated to filming is opened.
“For residents of small settlements, the emergence of mobile communication is a new opportunity for communication, study and work. Communication is important not only for private users, but also for the development of local business. Several enterprises operate in Chelsm and neighboring settlements, including kolkhoz, the production of nonwoven materials and other organizations. Reliable mobile communication and fast Internet give an additional impetus to their development, help to use digital services and support business communications. Russian technologies help us to provide subscribers with digital comfort – IRTEIA base stations already operate in three districts of the region. Our task is to make modern communication services available to residents of not only large cities, but also small villages and villages, said Ramil Musayev, director of MTS in the Kostroma region.
“For the Galich district and the village of Chelsma, this event has great social significance. The presence of sustainable mobile communication not only qualitatively improves and simplifies the life of the population, but also creates conditions for promising work of local enterprises, said Svetlana Kachalova, First Deputy Director of the Department of Digital Development of the Kostroma Region.
