Murmansk residents told about the decline in demand for Chinese cars in Russia

Residents of the Murmansk region, who plan to buy a car, can take into account the all-Russian trend: for nine months of 2026, sales of new Chinese cars in the country decreased by 21.2%. This was reported in GTNews.

From January to September, 377.1 thousand new cars of Chinese brands were sold in Russia. The market share of these brands decreased from 54.3% to 39.7%.

At the same time, the total market of new passenger cars grew by 7.7% and reached 950.2 thousand cars.

Sales of cars of Chinese brands of Russian assembly increased more than five times to 140.8 thousand. Their market share was 14.8%.

Sales of foreign cars of non-Chinese brands also increased: for nine months, 133.2 thousand cars were sold - by 79.2% more than a year earlier. Their share increased from 8.4% to 14%.

Sales of domestic cars amounted to 255.8 thousand cars, and their market share reached 26.9%.

Thus, the share of Chinese brands in Russia decreased, and the position of Russian-built cars and other foreign brands strengthened.

Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” reported that residents of the Murmansk region began to take 11% less car loans.
