The museum quarter in the capital will open to visitors in 2028. The new space will take into account modern standards of inclusivity. This was told to journalists on October 7, the General Director of the National Art Museum Irina Matyas, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

Thanks to the modernization, the main art museum of the country will have additional exhibition space, a lecture hall and new storage facilities. The need to expand the space is ripe, among other things, due to the sharp growth of the collection: over the past year alone, the funds were replenished with 5,600 works of Belarusian art. Now the collection exceeds 40 thousand exhibits.
- The updated space will take into account modern standards of inclusivity to make it convenient for people with disabilities. We hope that the museum quarter will become a cultural center, where Minsk residents and guests of the city will be able to comfortably spend the whole day, Matyas said.
The construction of this facility is supported by the Foundation of the President of Belarus for the Support of Culture and Art.
