Dagestan’s Interior Ministry warns of increased child benefit fraud
The number of frauds with social payments for children is growing in Dagestan, the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs warned

In Dagestan, the number of frauds with social payments for children is growing, the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs warned.
The scheme is based on the fact that in the northern regions child allowances can be twice as high. Parents are offered to issue an increased payment remotely, they ask for a copy of their passport and access to “public services”, and then fictitiously register them at the “rubber” address. The person continues to live and work in Dagestan, but according to the documents is listed as a resident of the North and receives a benefit that he is not entitled to. This is a crime under Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Especially often, mothers are involved in such schemes, promising easy money. Consequences – a criminal case, the return of all illegally received amount, and in the most severe cases – up to 10 years in prison.
The Interior Ministry recommends to refuse such offers, not to transfer their data and report to the police. If the payment is already obtained by fictitious registration, you need to independently contact the Social Fund, stop receiving it and voluntarily return the money.
