Interior Ministry: during the day suspended expenditure operations on 40 accounts of fraudsters

Over the past day, the Belarusian police received more than 100 applications about phone scams. Thanks to the efficiency of law enforcement officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of atrocities were prevented, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Employees of the department of fraud processing blocked the possibility of making payments to 20 foreign details used by attackers. Expenditure operations on 40 accounts were also suspended.

In addition, operatives detained a courier who worked in the interests of scammers.

However, seven crimes involving the use of information and communication technologies were recorded.

The leading position among fraudulent schemes is the organization of false purchases of goods on the Internet. Then there are phone calls on behalf of officials, trading on financial exchanges, and rental housing.
