In the Soviet district of Minsk celebrated the Day of national unity. The festive meeting brought together representatives of labor collectives, public organizations, youth and veterans. Today, words of gratitude were heard to people who contribute to the development of the district by their work and active participation in public life. September 17, 1939 became a landmark page of Belarusian history. On this day Western Belarus and BSSR were reunited.

The solemn part of the event continued with the honoring of representatives of labor collectives and public associations of the Soviet district. Gratitudes and certificates of registration of primary organizations of the Republican public association "Belaya Rus" were awarded to representatives of enterprises and organizations.
Congratulations to the participants of the event were also addressed to the heads and representatives of district organizations of public associations. Among them are the Soviet district organization of the NGO “Belaya Rus”, district structures of the Belarusian Union of Women, the Belarusian Republican Union of Youth, the Belarusian Peace Fund, the Belarusian Red Cross Society and the district organization of veterans.
At the end of the festive meeting, Alexander Shchekovich wished everyone good health, prosperity and peaceful skies, and also expressed hope that the word "war" for the present and future generations will remain only a historical concept.
