On September 16, a large-scale patriotic festival “We are united” was held in Miorsky district. The road home is dedicated to the Day of National Unity. The Disney border for the day became the scene on which the key events of the Belarusian history of the XX century came to life, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

The script of the theatrical production covered the main milestones of the last century: the partition of the country in 1921 and twenty years of occupation, reunification in 1939, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the Great Victory, post-war revival and modern Belarus.
The reconstruction of the events of the Polish occupation of Western Belarus and the liberation campaign of the Red Army showed at what cost the people got unity and independence.
Among the spectators were students of all universities of the Vitebsk region and cadets. For Ekaterina Domzhenok from the Polotsk Cadet School, this day became especially personal:
- My great-grandfather participated in the fighting near the Disney Line. Therefore, it was very important for me to be here and honor the feats of our ancestors together with everyone.

I’ve been doing motorbikes for over half a century. They, like this event, unite caring people and remind: we must resist attempts to distort our history.
The program was continued by a solemn concert of creative teams of P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University. Art rooms revealed the theme of unity and love for the Fatherland, and congratulatory actions, a mass flash mob, interactive platforms, master classes, thematic photo zones and field cuisine made the holiday truly popular.

- It was here, at the Disney Line, that the border once passed. That is why the festival “We are united” is held here. Go home. If it were not for September 17, 1939, there would be no modern history in Belarus. The purpose of this action is to show children that Belarus is a peace-loving country and that we have always valued unity. The road home is so called because people who lived in Western Belarus have returned home. It was then that the decision was made to return the Belarusians their land and the opportunity to be called Belarusians.
