In the Kherson region in the framework of the all-Russian action “Save the forest” planted 100 thousand young trees. Work began on the territory of the Novotroitsk forestry farm, where a plot of 25 hectares was allocated for new plantations.
The landing was attended by specialists of forestry and hunting economy and the Association of specially protected natural territories of the Kherson region. Thanks to the use of special equipment, they were able to complete the main work in one day.
New trees will help protect the fertile soil layer from weathering. As the plantations grow, they will perform an important environmental function, reducing the impact of strong winds on the soil.
In the first years after planting, the forestry staff will continue to care for the seedlings and monitor their survival. This largely depends on how successfully young trees can take root and form new forest areas.
