Earlier in social networks, the governor of Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk, received appeals from citizens expressing concern over information about the possible dismantling of the Leningradsky shopping complex. Residents expressed fears that the termination of the market will deprive them of an affordable opportunity to purchase essential goods and other things. Kemerovo residents also showed interest in plans to further use the vacated land plot.

In response, representatives of the city administration explained that according to the approved development plan for the territory of microdistrict No. 24, this site is intended for the organization of a square.

“The land plot located at the intersection of Chemists Avenue and Leningradsky Avenue, where the Leningradsky shopping mall is currently located, according to the project of surveying the territory of microdistrict No. 24 of the Leninsky district of the city of Kemerovo, has been determined for use with the type of permitted use “beautification of the territory” for the purpose of placing the square,” the administration informed.

Earlier, the Arbitration Court found that this shopping complex is an unauthorized building, and it was decided to demolish and vacate the site. After fulfilling these requirements, the process of developing project documentation for creating a square can be initiated.
