At about 19:40 on January 5, 2026, the accused was driving a Renault Logan along Platonov Street in the direction of Krasnozvezdnaya Street. Approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the driver showed inattention and did not give an advantage to the young man crossing the carriageway and hit him.
The victim from the scene of the accident was taken by an ambulance. According to the expert's conclusion, the young man suffered serious bodily harm on the grounds of danger to life.
A criminal case was opened against the Renault driver. According to the results of the investigative experiment, it was established that at the time of the accident, the car was moving at a speed of about 40 km / h. The accused hit a pedestrian when the victim reached almost the middle of the carriageway.
At the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted guilt in the incriminated crime, repented of what he had done. In addition, he voluntarily transferred 10,500 BYN to the victim in the account of material compensation for moral damage, paid for the call of the ambulance team and the treatment of the young man in the hospital.
- The accused is married, works as a manager in a private company, has not previously been brought to criminal responsibility, said Anastasia Maliko-Shamko, senior prosecutor of the Minsk Prosecutor’s Office for Supervision of Compliance with the Law of Court Decisions in Criminal Cases. The court found him guilty of violating traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle that caused serious bodily harm through negligence, and on the basis of Part 2 of Art. 317 of the Criminal Code imposed a punishment of 2 years 6 months of restriction of freedom without sending him to an open-type correctional institution with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for five years.
