Protect and preserve historical memory and truth. The Youth Forum of the Union State started in Mogilev

Discuss forms and methods of preserving historical memory, establish business contacts and develop a strategy to protect the historical truth. Today, on October 8, the Youth Forum of the Union State “Memory” begins its work at the Mogilev Museum of Glory. Choice. Responsibility”. The event, which is attended by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko and Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko, brought together young deputies, parliamentarians, historians and social activists from Belarus and Russia - more than 100 participants. Part of the two-day program will be a plenary session, exhibitions and meetings, open lectures.

Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy Valery Malashko noted the importance of the forum:

- With the move to Mogilev land, the festival has significantly changed its format. Previously, these were mainly creative performances of the teams of Russia and Belarus. At the same time, we understand the importance of our historical truth and heritage, especially among young people. Geopolitics is so volatile, so affecting the minds of our citizens, including changing our lives, that understanding our roots is becoming increasingly important.

For the second year in Mogilev region within the framework of the festival held a forum of historians, reminded Valery Malashko. Young historians from Belarus and Russia, discussing the historical heritage, form the future map of life

- It is important that deputies from Russia and Belarus participate in this discussion, in fact being mentors, and in many ways these people are intellectual centers in their countries. They form, say, the historical textbooks of our heritage. All young people are different, we understand that. But at the same time, they all share a sense of belonging to our common history, to our Fatherland. And it is important that they, returning to their labor, scientific and pedagogical teams, will broadcast the historical truth in the future.

The plenary session is held at the Mogilev Museum of Glory, and will continue its work at the Mogilev State University named after A. A. Kuleshov on three thematic sections: “The Axiology of Victory: the value code of the generation of winners and its translation in the XXI century”, “History issues: perception of the past as a resource for strategies of the present and aspirations for the future”, “Sovereign development in the era of hybrid challenges: consolidation of meanings”.
