On Vologda roads, accidents with wild animals have become more frequent

Since the beginning of the year, more than 170 road accidents involving wild animals have been recorded on the roads of the Vologda region. The most dangerous are the federal highways M-8, A-114 and A-119. High traffic intensity intersects with migratory routes of animals. Moose get into traffic accidents more often.

According to the regional Glavokhota, the peak of such incidents falls on September and October. It is during this period that animals move most actively. Experts note that most collisions occur on federal highways due to a large flow of cars.

To reduce risks on the roads of the region installed special barriers. Places of permanent transition of animals are marked with warning signs. However, the main cause of the accident remains the person himself. Failure to comply with the speed limit, ignoring warning signs, fatigue and inattention on the way - all this leads to tragic consequences.
