An appeal to the peoples of the world was read at the 3rd city “World Line” near the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk, BelTA reports.

The event was held under the motto “Unity for Peace!”. It was attended by 820 young peacekeepers – students of educational institutions of the capital with the status of “School of Peace” (there are 82). Also, the action was joined by senators, representatives of the deputy corps, executive power, departments and services of education and health, diplomatic missions, the general public, the clergy. The line itself is timed to the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated today, September 21, and the 65th anniversary of the Belarusian Peace Fund (BPM).
The first bell to commemorate world peace was installed at the UN headquarters in 1954. The inscription reads: “Long live world peace!” The Belarusian Peace Bell was established in 2000. Today, all participants also rang to the sounds of the bells of the temple.
Chairman of the Board of the Minsk City Branch of BFM Dmitry Karan spoke about what is special about such a line. “It helps to unite people of all ages in Belarus to reaffirm that peace is the main value in human life. Today is the International Day of Peace, we want to support the ideas of this holiday so that they will be alive forever. Our young peacekeepers not only with words, but also with deeds make a worthy contribution to make children’s laughter sound constantly, he said.
First Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Lyudmila Lyakhnovich appealed to the participants with a request. The word "peace" carries all the most important and valuable - friendship, comfort, tranquility, spirituality. Take care of everything that is holy on earth. It's respect, love. I wish you to realize that you live in peace - observe it in all other countries, she urged.
Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Angelika Kurchak noted that such a holiday is a global call to lay down arms, think about how important the life of each person is, and remember that truth is not born in a conflict.
“This day is a reminder that our strength is not in weapons, but in our actions and thoughts, dialogue and harmony. The question is, what do we all do and should do for the world? First of all, learn to listen to each other, respect opinions different from yours, and jointly find ways to solve common problems, said Angelica Kurczak.
Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Belarus Andrei Evkin stressed that the event serves as the ideal of peacekeeping. “May your soul always be joyful and cloudless, and your life horizons be always clear, so that you can safely pursue your dreams and goals. In this case, the ideals of peacekeeping will win in all corners of the planet, he said.
Pupils of Minsk School No. 66 spoke about what it means to be part of the School of Peace. “The most important thing is to be a kind and sympathetic person yourself and to build the right relationships with people. We develop such human qualities as kindness, said the schoolboy Alexey Arunas.
Victoria Golovacheva, Deputy Head of Kindergarten No. 147 of Pervomaysky District of Minsk, shared that the institution has been a “School of Peace” for the second year.
By the way, we were the first to receive the status among preschool education institutions. Of course, the education of the younger generation in the traditions of peace and creation should begin at an early age. We are very happy to be a part of the event, for the second time participating in the lineup. We hope that our children will grow up to be worthy representatives of society and their country, the teacher added.
The Peace Line adopted an appeal of young peacekeepers – students of educational institutions of the capital, who joined the republican project of the Belarusian Peace Fund “Network of Peace Schools in the Republic of Belarus”, which is implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education, to the peoples of the planet Earth. With the help of it, participants called on all people and rulers of the Earth to reach out to each other and proclaim peace on the planet.
“In our eyes is the hope that you, adults, remembering your happy childhood, will not allow children to suffer and die in the fire of wars and confrontations,” the message reads.
