Three ideas from residents of the Mozyr district became winners of the open competition of civil initiatives of the Gomel regional association of local councils of deputies. 90% of the funding for the implementation of projects was received from the organizers, the remaining funds were collected by the citizens themselves. Today, on September 22, a solemn presentation of the implemented projects took place.

The civil initiative “Silver Bridges: Preservation and Transmission of Folklore Heritage” was presented at the Mozyr Drama Theatre. The main goal of this project is the preservation and popularization of Polish folklore. It was proposed by the Mozyr collective of folk song “Pillow”. Talented Mozyrian women together with the center of social services of the population will acquaint young people with folk art, and attracting young people to direct participation, said Elena Nered, director of the TCSON of the Mozyr district:
- “Silver Bridges: Preserving and Transferring Folk Heritage” is a recognition of the value of experience, wisdom and beauty that our older generation holds. But folklore is not a museum silence, but a living energy. In our center for many years there is a day stay department for elderly citizens. Its mission is simple, but at the same time complex and multifaceted: to help people of the older generation not to lose touch with the world, to remain active and to feel their importance. Creativity is a special language that knows no age. And for our wards, it becomes not only a way of self-expression, but also to maintain vitality.

- Initially, we planned to create not only a beautiful and comfortable space, but also a platform where every resident of our city could improve their environmental literacy and form their environmental mentality.

The territory near the Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I. P. Shamyakin was landscaped, comfortable benches were installed here, a tui alley was planted. Environmental actions and educational activities are planned at this site.

In the Makhnovichi rural house of culture implemented a civic initiative dedicated to their famous countryman Nikolai Denisovich Starovoit. The master with golden hands created 45 violins, which dispersed throughout the Soviet Union. The exposition dedicated to the “Belarusian Stradivari” was called “Queen of the Orchestra – Violin!” It is planned that the project will become a base for festivals of violinists.
