One of the main directions of publishing is the publication of documents about the Great Patriotic War. Interest in this topic is connected both with the composition of the stored funds, and with the public and state request to study the events of 1941-1945 from primary sources.
In 2026, the archive published the collection “Wilhelm Cuba”. Nazi occupation policy in Belarus, 1941-1943: documents and materials. The joint project “Nazi punitive operations in the Belarusian-Russian borderland” continues with Russian colleagues. The first volume, devoted to the events of 1942, was published last year, and by the end of this year it is planned to present a book on the punitive operations of 1943.
Another major project is the series “Without statute of limitations”. Belarus”. By the end of the year, the National Archives plans to release the tenth collection of the series, which will be devoted to the Minsk trial. Electronic versions of most publications on the topic of genocide of the Belarusian people are available on the websites of archival institutions.
At the same time, archivists work with other periods of national history. In the series “IDPs from the BSSR” a collection of post-war resettlement to Karelia is being prepared. The publication of materials on the restoration of the national economy of Belarus continues: two volumes on the restoration of agriculture and publications on industry have already been published, and next year a collection on the restoration of the social sphere is planned. In the future, the series will be supplemented with four volumes on the restoration of the cultural sphere of the country.
According to Elena Stukanova, the archive intends to continue publishing projects and expand international cooperation, including with Russian, Kazakh and Uzbek colleagues. Chatbots and text recognition: how Belarus plans to use AI in the archival field stepanchuk@sb.by
