China Week will be held in Tambov region

From October 12 to 17, the Tambov region will become a space for cultural exchange between Russia and China. These days, a large-scale project “China Week” (6+) is launched in the region.

Participants of the event will be specialists in Sinology, researchers, cultural workers and representatives of educational institutions of both countries. A delegation of the Central Board of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society will arrive in Tambov, headed by Deputy Chairmans Leonid Petukhin and Yuri Tavrovsky.

According to Derzhavin University, the key task of the project is to strengthen humanitarian ties, promote Russian-Chinese relations and introduce Tambov residents to the culture of China.

The program covers dozens of events. Among them are lectures and seminars held by teachers of Chinese partner universities of Derzhavin University, as well as the XV International Scientific Conference “Language, Culture and Professional Communication in Modern Society”.

Among the special guests is Ren Guangxuan, a famous Chinese Russian scientist and professor at Peking University. He presented his book “The History of Russian Literature”. And the famous Russian orientalist Yuri Tavrovsky, the author of a series of books on modern China, will share his research with Tambov residents.

A special place in the program will be taken by the delegation of Shanxi University. The Chinese university will conclude a cooperation agreement with Derzhavin University and present the tour of the creative team. Performances of artists will be held in Kotovsk and Rasskazov.

“China Week” will end with a children’s program with creative master classes. Young participants will be able to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of China.
