Nizhny Novgorod challenged the VS fine for refusing to check for intoxication

The Supreme Court considered an unusual case of a car owner from Nizhny Novgorod, reports “Kommersant-Volga”.

The man was deprived of his rights and fined 45 thousand rubles for refusing to pass an intoxication test - although, according to him, he did not drive a car, but only sat behind the wheel to turn off the engine, and accidentally drove several meters.

Inspectors and lower courts decided otherwise and punished the driver. The Supreme Court disagreed with this approach and sent the case for review.
