In Nizhny Novgorod, a 21-year-old boy was discharged from the burn department of the University Clinic PIMU, who suffered burns of 90% of the skin. According to the telegram channel of the clinic, the patient was evacuated from Voronezh in late May.

The condition of the young man was assessed as extremely serious. The course of treatment stretched for almost four months. During therapy, he underwent a skin transplant, a blood purification procedure, and also required frequent dressings and a long recovery period.

During the illness, the young man lost up to 55 kg. But during his stay in the hospital, he managed to gain 20 kilograms. Due to prolonged bed rest, the patient had to learn to walk again.

After discharge, the 21-year-old patient intends to complete his studies at the Voronezh Technical University and start working as a design engineer.

The head doctor of the clinic Igor Arefyev stressed that the process of rehabilitation after such injuries can take years. In the future, the young man will return to the clinic for conservative treatment, which will include work with scars and joint development.
