In Brest, a large-scale reconstruction of the bridge over the Mukhavets River continues. This is the largest transport project of the city, which should connect the center with actively developing neighborhoods. The new bridge will replace the outdated structure and provide a full four-lane traffic with comfortable sidewalks and bike paths, writes sb.by.

- The work is divided into three stages, and today we are approaching the completion of the first and second. The first stage included the preparation of the construction site and the transfer of all engineering communications. The second is the construction of a new part of the bridge, which is now about 80% complete. Over the weekend, contractors started laying the top layer of asphalt, and by the end of the year we plan to complete these two stages and open traffic on the new part of the bridge. Now there is asphalting of the section from the Warsaw Highway to the ascent. The flyby itself is already covered in a black layer. On the descent to the embankment, curbs are installed, pedestrian paths and bicycle paths are formed, turning congresses are performed. In October, the laying of clean asphalt is planned, after which the first and second stages will be ready for commissioning. The readiness of the facility is expected in November, and with the confirmation of all technical conditions, the movement will be launched without delay, said Igor Kosenkov, director of the UE "UKS of Brest".

The reconstruction of the bridge over the Mukhavets River is not only the renewal of the old crossing, but also a serious investment in the transport system of Brest. The project is gradually approaching completion and will result in a modern bridge capable of providing safe and comfortable traffic for cars, pedestrians and cyclists.
