Novgorod man without documents faces criminal conviction for trying to pay off car fines

In the Novgorod region recorded 14 cases of corruption by road users. Statistics for the first 9 months of 2026 was published by the press service of the traffic police in the Novgorod region.

Drivers tried to avoid administrative responsibility for various violations - from crossing the road in the wrong place and stopping incorrectly to driving without a proper driver's license and driving under the influence.

The last such incident occurred on September 29 in the Novgorod municipal district. On the highway “Big Gorki-Polyos-Churilovo” traffic police inspectors stopped the 65-year-old driver of the car “UAZ”. The man did not have registration documents for the car, driver's license and OSAGO policy.

Already in the patrol car, the driver repeatedly offered inspectors a monetary reward to avoid fines. In relation to the man, administrative protocols were drawn up for violations in the field of road safety, as well as a notice of inducing police officers to a corruption offense. For the last Novgorod citizen faces Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles or imprisonment up to 2 years.
