New Year holidays 2026-2027 again postponed: how now we will rest – the exact schedule

The Russian government has finally fixed the production calendar for 2027. The main gift for citizens working for five days is a large-scale winter vacation. Due to the postponement of the weekend (Saturdays 2 and 3 January shifted to November 5 and December 31, 2026, respectively), continuous rest starts on December 31, 2026 and will last until January 10 inclusive. You will have to go to work only on Monday, January 11.

In addition to winter holidays, Russians are waiting for other long weekends in the new year:

• february 21-23;

• 6-8 march;

• may 1-3 and may 8-10;

• june 12-14;

4-7 November (for four consecutive days on the Day of National Unity).

A pleasant bonus awaits citizens at the end of next year: December 31, 2027, is also officially recognized as a non-working day.

The overall balance of the year looks optimistic: 247 working days versus 118 days of rest and public holidays. Experts advise to plan vacations and book tickets based on the approved schedule.
