The new innovative building of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology opened its doors for the first patients. This is reported in the telegram channel of the Ministry of Health of Belarus, writes sb.by.

The commissioning of the facility is carried out in stages. The launch of the remaining units of the corps will take place consistently throughout the month.
The new building will have a day care unit with comfortable rooms for children continuing specialized treatment, a department of transfusion and extracorporeal treatments.

Clinical and scientific laboratories will be opened here, including a unique genetic biotechnology laboratory with clean rooms for the production of biomedical cell products (CAR-T therapy, stem cells).
Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department for 12 beds with a centralized monitoring system, a high-tech operating unit for five operating rooms (including endoscopic and hybrid with CT), each of which is equipped with a “smart operating room” and surgical navigation, as well as a bone marrow transplantation department for 12 aseptic wards with laminar air flow and the possibility of early medical rehabilitation.

The commissioning of the new building will solve a number of important strategic tasks: to increase the survival rates of children with malignant neoplasms, to scale the production of advanced genetically engineered products and introduce stationary replacement technologies, to create a barrier-free environment and strictly divide the flow of patients, minimizing the risks of hospital-acquired infections.
In addition, thanks to this, it is expected to increase the export of medical services in the profile of “childhood oncology-hematology” and the direction of “primary immunodeficiencies”, to provide a fundamentally new level of comfort for young patients, their parents and medical personnel.
