In Mogilev, the grand opening of the XIX festival “Youth for the Union State” continued with a competition program. Performers of the youth song and representatives of choreographic groups today, October 8, came to the festive stage and shared their impressions of a large-scale creative event, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

A student of the Moscow State Institute of Music named after A. G. Schnittke Valeria Rodin from Moscow prepared for the competition of cants of Peter’s times “Like on the mother on the Neva River”, which in the XVIII-XIX centuries was traditionally performed by the military on parade ground. The participant is sure that the song reflects Russian culture and traditions, about which it is necessary to tell modern youth:
- We must know our roots and our history so that we are not “Ivans who do not remember kinship.” I believe that Russian and Belarusian cultures are related and very similar. I would love to listen to Belarusian folklore. I’m always excited on stage, and rightly so: the performer has to be passionate about what he’s doing.

Nadezhda Degtyareva is studying at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. He is participating in the festival for the third time and counts only on winning - I am sure that houses and walls help:
- I really want to be noticed and appreciated - I hope to win. The festival allows you to develop, exchange experience and grow professionally. I will sing the lyrical song "Zakakhanaya", where I will reveal my vocal potential as much as possible. I wish the participants to gather all their strength, overcome the excitement and perform with dignity.

Artem Rodionov from the Russian Chelyabinsk prepared a lyrical Cossack song about unrequited love for the competition. A student of the South Ural State Institute of Arts named after P. I. Tchaikovsky has been professionally engaged in vocals since the age of nine. This contest is important because it is a performance of an international format, he stressed:
It is great that we have the opportunity to show the culture of our region, our country, and do it in a friendly atmosphere. We share a common historical past, common values and mentality – I am sure that the friendship of the Russian and Belarusian peoples will be eternal. Today’s young people feel this and continue the traditions laid down for centuries.

Fyodor Mikhalenko from Minsk is a student of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. In Mogilev brought the choreographic number “Bells of Khatyn”, came on stage together with his dance partner Alice Abramovich. The theme of patriotism and preservation of historical memory is one of the priorities of the Union youth, and dance is a universal language that can emotionally convey it
- In our countries, the theme of the Great Patriotic War is close and understandable to everyone: Belarusians and Russians walked this path together. Such pain is difficult to convey in dance not technically, but morally - you prepare and tune in for a long time, but it is still worth talking about. For me, the festival is a wonderful opportunity to work with our Russian brothers, to gain new experience and creative impulse. “There will be winners, but there will be no losers.” Festival "Youth - for the Union State" opened in Mogilev
