The Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection hosted a joint visiting meeting of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development and the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on Economy, Budget and Finance on the topic “State Social Insurance in the Republic of Belarus: Features of Additional Pension Provision”.

Natalia Pavlyuchenko, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, noted that today it is important to talk about the further development and popularization of voluntary insurance of additional funded pension (program 3+3), which is carried out by Stravita. “The public social security system should be progressively and progressively developed. The start of the system is given – more than 91,000 citizens are insured. It is necessary, of course, to continue working to make this system popularized, she stressed.
According to her, the system should work both in the real sector of the economy and in budget organizations. The second type of funded pension, which has been working in our country since 2009, is occupational pension insurance.
The principle of accumulation in the professional insurance system is similar to the accumulation in the 3+3 program. The main difference is that the participants of the system of professional pension insurance are given the right to take monthly savings for future pension in the form of a supplement to wages. It is important to understand that for citizens working in special working conditions and not planning early retirement (for example, teachers, medical workers), participation in the 3+3 program will be more effective. “We need to make it clear to citizens in simple and understandable terms that the two systems can be compiled together. Today, it is necessary to popularize the 3+3 system more, Natalia Pavlyuchenko added.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Yulia Berdnikova spoke about the management of the state social insurance system. First Deputy Manager of the Social Protection Fund Ekaterina Likhacheva made a report on the topic “Occupational pension insurance: participants, trends, prospects”. Elena Tuleyko, Deputy General Director of Stravita State Enterprise, informed about the status and prospects of voluntary insurance of additional funded pension.
The participants of the event asked questions to the speakers and exchanged views on the topic under discussion.
