The volume of laying apples in the stabilization funds of the Minsk region this year will double

In the central region, active work is underway to form stabilization funds for the upcoming winter period. This year, the volume of apples grown by manufacturers of the Minsk region, which will be sent for storage, is planned to double compared to last year. This was told in the Main Department of Trade and Services of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, BelTA writes.

Providing the population with inexpensive vitamin products, and this is not only a borsch set, but also apples, is a traditional concern of both manufacturers and trade organizations. And today, during the harvest season, in key farms of the Minsk region, which are identified as basic for the storage of fruits and vegetables, its active laying is carried out.

“This year, almost 9 thousand tons of potatoes, 3.7 thousand tons of cabbage, 2.5 thousand tons of carrots, 1.5 thousand tons of beets, as well as 2.4 thousand tons of onions are planned to be laid in the stabilization funds of the Minsk region,” said Natalia Suykova, head of the main department. The volume of laying apples will be 4.1 thousand tons, which is almost twice as much as last year.

“For the first time this year, vegetables such as fresh cucumbers and tomatoes are included in the list of fruits and vegetables sold in the off-season period – only about 3 thousand tons,” Natalia Suykova noted.
