The Nizhny Novgorod regional court upheld the sentence of the former city manager of Nizhny Novgorod Oleg Kondrashov - 10 years of a strict regime colony and a fine of 340 million rubles. He was found guilty of receiving bribes through intermediaries from entrepreneur Mamuka Lozaberidze for control of the funeral business.
At the same time, in terms of collecting 17 million rubles of a bribe from the convicted ex-head of the administration in absentia, the sentence was sent for a new consideration, and the protocols of interrogation of key witnesses were excluded from it. The defense of Kondrashov, who has been living in the United States since 2018, was denied participation in the trial via video link through Russian consulates.
