The regional court returned the land on the banks of the Volga in federal ownership

The Nizhny Novgorod regional court returned the land on the banks of the Volga to federal ownership. This was reported in the joint press service of courts of general jurisdiction of the region.

The oblsud considered the appeal in the case of the return of plots on the claim of the environmental prosecutor. Earlier, the court rejected the plaintiff completely.

Re-examination revealed that part of the land is within the coastline and strip. Such areas cannot be privately owned, as access to the river must be free for all.

On October 6, the regional court overturned the previous decision and decided to return the plots to the property of the Russian Federation. The definition came into force immediately after the announcement.
