Publicists controlled the voting in the IVS of the Altai Territory
On the first day of voting, September 18, public activists checked how they ensured the participation in the elections of citizens in temporary detention facilities of the Altai Territory
Members of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Altai Territory Volgin A. A. and Yakushev N. N. visited the IVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Barnaul and the JV UMVD of Russia in Barnaul. In the first institution there were two people, in the second - 17. Everyone was given the opportunity to vote, and precinct election commissions delivered portable ballot boxes. There were no complaints or comments on the conditions of detention.
In Rubtsovsk, members of the POC Popov V.I. and Dobrovolsky M.M. visited the IVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and talked with five of the six arrested. Everyone was able to take part in the elections, there were no complaints about the conditions of detention.
In addition, the public checked the organization of elections in the structural unit of the KGBUZ “Altai psychiatric hospital named after Erdman”. 19 out of 60 patients are eligible to vote, and all of them voted. The precinct election commission arrived there with a portable ballot box.
Such checks are part of the overall monitoring of elections in the region. One of the sites where information from the sites is collected and analyzed is the Public Observation Center, which officially opened in the Altai Territory on September 18. It is located on the basis of the Altai Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. Y. Shishkov.
The opening of the Center was attended by Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Altai Territory Sergey Prib, Commissioner for Human Rights in the region Anton Vasiliev, representative of the Altai Territory in the Public Chamber of Russia Irina Yakovenko, representatives of the media and the public.
More than four thousand observers and volunteers, including participants of the SVO, prepared for the elections in the region. More than 1,600 observers from the Public Chamber work directly at the polling stations.
“The organization of public observation in the region is a great work of a huge team of professionals. More than four thousand observers were trained, volunteers with an active civic position were selected, including participants of the SVO. Now they are dispersed throughout the Altai Territory, said Sergey Prib.
Another monitoring tool is video surveillance, which covers about 70 percent of the sites. The situation is monitored by staff specialists, and if necessary, mobile groups go to the site.
Volunteers also monitor social media posts. According to the head of staff Alexei Chesnokov, most of the reports of possible violations after the inspection is not confirmed. He gave an example with a statement on the non-admission of representatives of one of the participants in the electoral process. It turned out that the documents were not collected on time, and the site itself is a security facility.
In addition, experts record information attacks on the remote electronic voting system. Since the beginning of voting, more than 170,000 have been recorded. Situations are analyzed by lawyers, political strategists and media specialists, if necessary, law enforcement agencies are involved in the work.
Public activists urge election participants to comply with the legislation, not to respond to fakes and verify information.
