This year, the All-Russian Society of the Deaf (VOG) celebrates the centenary of its foundation.
Established in 1926, the organization has been consistently defending the rights and interests of hearing-impaired people for a century, promoting their social integration and creating conditions for a full life.
An important part of the all-Russian movement is the Kalmyk regional branch of VOG, established in 1958. The department is currently headed by Lidia Kankaeva. The association covers about 500 residents of the Republic of Kalmykia and implements a set of measures to support persons with hearing impairments.
