Oleg Melnichenko visited Penza Forest College

The Governor of the Penza region Oleg Melnichenko paid a visit to the Penza Forest College, which dates back to 1970. Today, there are taught in four areas: from forestry and forest park management to the repair of cars and masters of agricultural production.

The head of the region inspected study rooms, laboratories, a hostel and a greenhouse, and also looked into the student canteen. He talked to teachers and students.

Over the decades, the college has graduated more than 7 thousand specialists for the forest industry and related fields. According to Oleg Melnichenko, local personnel are waiting not only in the Penza region, but also in the Ulyanovsk, Mordovia and other regions, since hunting specialists, foresters, landscape designers and plant growers are not trained anywhere else in the vicinity. The governor noted that these professions are now at the peak of demand due to increased attention to the environment. Specialists are also needed for greening cities, because the region is actively developing a comfortable urban environment, creating new parks, flowerbeds and lawns.

The material base of the institution is gradually updated. In 2023, the main building was overhauled and the heating system replaced, and in 2026, money was allocated for the purchase of computers.
