Oleg Melnichenko congratulated Penza farmers on the holiday

The Governor of Penza region Oleg Melnichenko congratulated farmers on the Day of the worker of agriculture and processing industry.

He noted that industry workers make a huge contribution to the economic development of the region and ensuring food security of the country. Thanks to conscientious work, the Penza region leads among the subjects of the Russian Federation in a number of industry indicators.

Thus, the region ranks first in Russia in yield per cow in agricultural organizations and second in the production of poultry for slaughter. This is the result of professionalism, dedication to the native land and the ability to effectively implement modern technologies. In terms of digitalization of the agricultural sector, Penza region is also among the top Russian regions.

The development of the agro-industrial complex is one of the priorities for the region, Melnichenko stressed. Young specialists are being trained, returning to crop rotation, improving rural areas, creating infrastructure, and supporting agricultural producers through federal and regional programs.
