Oncology sleeps: what types of tumors for years do not make themselves felt

There are cancers that may not be felt for years. No pain, no fever, no obvious symptoms. The person feels normal - and the disease develops in the meantime. This was warned by oncologist Anastasia Fatyananova.

The most insidious are they?

The most "quiet" types of cancer, according to the doctor, are pancreatic, ovarian, kidney, lung, lymphoma and colon tumors. In the early stages, they are small and do not press on the vessels. And some tumors do not cause inflammation, and the immune system simply does not notice them.

“Such neoplasms do not release substances that would cause temperature or other noticeable disturbances. The immune system also does not always recognize altered cells, Fatyanova said.

What should alert you?

It seems like ordinary things: constant weakness, lost appetite, weight goes without diets, at night throws in sweat, sometimes the temperature rises. But if it lasts a long time, this is a reason to check.

Fatyanova also advises not to ignore:

- persistent change of chair;

shortness of breath at the usual load;

prolonged hoarseness of voice;

uncaused yellowness of the skin and eyes.

That doesn't mean you have cancer. But it's better to be safe. As they say, God takes care of the people.

Why it is important to catch cancer early

If the disease is caught early, treatment will be easier: surgery is gentle, therapy is shorter and easier to tolerate. Therefore, regular examinations are so important, the oncologist emphasizes.

And it's not just words. The statistics are inexorable: with early detection of certain types of cancer, the survival rate reaches 90–95%. And in the later stages - many times lower.

Oncology in Kuzbass: what you need to know

According to the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass, about 12,000 new cases of cancer are detected annually in the region. It is the second most common cause of death after cardiovascular disease. But the good news is that more than half of the cases are detected early. This is the result of medical examinations and oncology screenings.

In Kuzbass there is a large oncological dispensary, where modern diagnosis and treatment are carried out. And there are primary oncology rooms in clinics - you can contact them at the first suspicion.

Dispensation is free, and time is invaluable. Do not delay a visit to the doctor if something is bothering you longer than usual.

Here are the simple rules:

- undergo medical examination once a year;

do not ignore cancer screenings if you are offered them;

watch your body and don’t blame it on fatigue;

if the symptom does not go away for weeks, go to the doctor.

It is better to be tested and exhaled than to start a disease. Oncology is not a sentence if caught on time. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
