Orel doctors told about the successful rescue of a patient with a sick heart
Hospital Patient Scratch N Medical Care

The patient of the hospital Skrya medical care named after N. A. Semashko successfully underwent a heart transplant operation. He was sent to the National Institute of Transplantation and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov of the Ministry of Health of Russia for heart transplant surgery.
As told in the Oryol hospital in his group in the social network Vkontakte, the 56-year-old man for many years struggled with chronic rheumatic disease, which developed after suffering a sore throat in his youth. Doctors did everything possible to stop the disease. But the patient's condition deteriorated rapidly. In recent months, he struggled to overcome a distance of several meters: the heart lost its “pumping” function and ceased to cope with its main task – to provide the body with blood. The ejection fraction (the amount of blood released from the left ventricle into the aorta when contracted) was only 12% (at a rate of 55-70%). The end-stage of heart failure came, and the only chance to save the patient's life was a transplant.
The staff of the department worried about their patient and looked forward to his return from the federal center. The operation was successful, Hamlet Genrikhovich – the man’s name – returned home and first visited his attending doctors: the head of the cardiology department No. 2 Anton Karasev and cardiologist Anastasia Gavrilina. He talked about his feelings after a heart transplant, about his health and about the supernatural things that happened during the operation.
As noted in the hospital named after Semashko, ahead of Hamlet Genrikhovich a long period of rehabilitation, a strict diet and restriction of physical activity. But now he feels a significant change in his condition, as if he breathed new life.
“We are sincerely happy for our patient and wish him good health for many years!” – said the doctors.
