Gastro festivals: where to taste Belarusian autumn
Bulbians Fest and Potato Boom
Potatoes in Belarus are more than food. It is a culture, a brand and always a cause for celebration.
In Mogilev starts the city gastro festival "Bulba-fast", which will be held from September 20 to October 4. Participants of the event – 12 Mogilev institutions. The cost of the set is 40 rubles.
Culinary festivals in Mogilev invariably please both local residents and guests of the city - they are looked after in advance, and then with great pleasure come. Dishes, which are included in the festival sets, eventually turn into a real gastronomic card of Mogilev.

Cranes and cranes in Miorah
On September 19, the Miori hosted the environmental festival “Jurahli and Mirskag cranes region”. The local Yelnya swamp is the leader in Belarus in cranberry reserves, and during the autumn migration more than four thousand cranes fly here. This is perhaps the only festival where gastronomy goes hand in hand with ornithology: unusual dishes of cranberries, pouring and tincture - and on top, if lucky, a wedge of cranes in the sky.
International Orthodox Festival “Joy”
From September 25 to October 5, an Orthodox festival will open in Mogilev on Unity Square, the carriage of the Atrium shopping center. Working hours: from 11:00 to 20:00 (5 October to 17:00).
The Orthodox Festival will be held in Mogilev with the blessing of Archbishop Sophronius of Mogilev and Mstislava; the event is organized with the assistance of the city executive committee. The main organizers are the St. Elizabeth Monastery and the Orthodox Sisterhood.
Guests of any age have prepared a rich program: you can visit educational excursions – they are dedicated to the life of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk and the history of the manuscript book. For everyone, creative master classes will be held, performances of the Batleika puppet theater and performances of the clown Moti will be shown. There will also be a book cafe and quizzes.
For adults, spiritual conversations with priests are planned - they will talk about the faith, and nun Maria (Litvinova), who combines ministry with medical activities, will share her thoughts on how to maintain the health of the soul and body.
A charity exhibition-fair will operate throughout all days of the festival. Monasteries and temples from Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Greece, Serbia, Syria and Palestine will present handmade products.
Visitors will be able to submit notes on health and repose – they will be handed over for commemoration in different parts of the Orthodox world.
Come to the festival with the whole family: in autumn it is especially valuable to be together and feel warmth.
Zhabinkovskiy dranik and Pokrovskie evenings
In October, guests will enjoy the gastronomic festival “Zhabinkovskiy Dranik” – a celebration of national cuisine and Belarusian traditions, which was first held in 2025 and is now returning. And closer to mid-October, when the field work is over, the “Pokrovsky evenings” start with divinations, songs and drays based on family recipes, which are prepared right on the street.
Palace ball in Zhilichi
September 26 will be held “Verasnyoнутьski Fest. Palace at Zhylichy” – a chance to literally plunge into the atmosphere of palace balls of the XIX century. This is not quite a gastro festival, but it will not do without treats: the open-air format in combination with historical scenery creates the very autumn vibe for which it is worth going.
Dazhynki-2026: the main agricultural holiday of the country
On September 19, Dzerzhinsk received the regional Dazhynki of the Minsk region – and this coincided with the 880th anniversary of the city. More than 110 million rubles were allocated for improvement, a bronze sculpture of a Belarusian worker with a sheaf in her hands was put on the main square, and in the evening the sky painted fireworks.

Bagach and Kata Pachy: Folk rites in the open air
At the end of September, the Bagach holiday will be held in different parts of Belarus - an echo of the ancient rite of gratitude to the land for the harvest. The symbol of the holiday is a lubricant with grain, in the center of which a candle is put, and each family brings a handful of grain from the first sheaf.
And in the agro-town of Skirmantovo, Dzerzhinsky district, you can see the ritual game “Kata Pyachy” – a comic imitation of baking a “cat”, which is planted in an improvised oven under sentences and songs. The game is carnival in nature and is accompanied by folk festivities.
