From flexible schedule to payments to holidays: the FPB told about guarantees for families with children

The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus holds republican campaigns “Congratulations to Mom Together!” and “Congratulations to Dad Together!” dedicated to the week of parental love. Anyone can choose a postcard, sign it for their relatives and send it to the specified address. Options of postcards are on the official website of FPB. Employees of trade union committees are also ready to help issue a congratulation and pass it on to the addressee, writes sb.by.

Other thematic events are held in the regions: concerts, round tables, family interactions and various initiatives that unite workers and their families.

Support for workers with family responsibilities is not limited to festive events. An important area of trade union work is the consolidation of additional guarantees in collective agreements. Today, about 85% of collective agreements contain such norms.

- We are talking about job security, material support, assistance in organizing recreation and rehabilitation of children. At the initiative of trade unions, collective agreements include payments at the birth of a child, on Mother's Day and Father's Day, in difficult life situations, in preparing children for school. In some organizations, there are also incentives for employees for good performance of children, the press service of the trade union said. For parents of young children in a number of organizations can set part-time or flexible hours. Such measures help to reconcile work with family responsibilities and to devote more time to children.
