From family history to common memory: Novgorod residents were invited to the contest “The connecting thread of the peoples of Russia”

In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the All-Russian Contest “The Connecting Thread of the Peoples of Russia” starts. The project is designed to strengthen the connection of generations and preserve historical memory – and in 2026 its importance is especially great, the press service of the MKU “Urban economy”.

The competition continues the tradition of the successful project of 2025: then more than 15,000 authors from all 89 regions of the country took part in it. This season, the program is expanding: new nominations have appeared - stories, poems and artistic drawings. Participants are invited to reveal topics related to the heroic pages of the history of their families - during the Great Patriotic War and during a special military operation.

Citizens of the Russian Federation aged 8 to 23 years are invited to participate. Participation is free, the only mandatory condition is a subscription to the official community of the competition.

The acceptance of works will last until October 31, 2026. You can upload your work through your personal account on the site connect.rf.

The award system is designed to recognize as many authors as possible. Each participant will receive a diploma; 15,000 people will participate in the competition; 500 finalists will be awarded in their regions; 100 winners will be invited to Moscow; 10 authors will receive special prizes; the best works will be included in the memorable catalog - it will become a long-term carrier of family and national memory.
