From lessons to games: in Minsk awarded young teachers who are best versed in tax intricacies

On the eve of the professional holiday - Teacher's Day - an unusual event took place in the walls of the Minsk City Palace of Children and Youth on September 18. This time, it was not the students, but the teachers. Participants of an exciting intellectual visa were young specialists in the field of additional education.

A teacher is not just a profession, it is a vocation that is rightfully considered one of the most noble in the world. It is the teacher who becomes for the child a guide to the world of great knowledge, gives the first practical skills and the most important life advice that remain in memory for a lifetime. But even mentors sometimes need to take a break from the role of mentors and show their talents in an informal setting.

The quiz, dedicated to Teachers’ Day, gathered the most active and ambitious teachers. The atmosphere of the competition was filled with excitement, laughter and the spirit of healthy competition. Young specialists brilliantly coped with tricky issues, demonstrating not only deep professional knowledge, but also a truly wide erudition in the most unexpected areas, including the subtleties of taxation, which was a pleasant surprise for organizers and spectators.

Following a tense struggle, the jury determined the winners and prize-winners. The seats were distributed as follows:

– the first – a team of young specialists of additional education of children and youth of the Central district of Minsk;

- the second was shared by the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth, as well as the Orion Palace of Children and Youth;

Minsk State Tourism and Environmental Center for Children and Youth.

The main surprise for the participants was not only certificates, but also useful gifts. The teams that won the prizes received a board game “World of the Tax Period”, released by the Information and Publishing Center for Taxes and Duties with the assistance of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, as well as publishing projects of the MTS to improve tax literacy, released with the assistance of the Taxpayers Association, the Chamber of Tax Consultants and the OBO “Unity”.

Both the game and the manuals will help young teachers build their lessons not on dry schemes, but on live, accessible examples, making complex material fascinating even for the youngest listeners.

It is worth noting that the game “World of the Tax Period” is recommended by the Ministry of Education for active implementation both in the educational process and in the system of extracurricular educational work of schools and gymnasiums.

We are sure that this will be a great help for our teachers. After all, now financial literacy classes will be held not in a boring lecture format, but in an interactive format, where useful knowledge is learned easily and simply - through the game and competently selected cases, said Olga Tarasevich, Deputy Head of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance for Minsk.
