Rest in pet-friendly format. Is it possible in sanatoriums of Belarus

Belarusian health resorts record a steady demand and expand the list of services for guests. It is important to relax with pets. This was told to journalists on October 6 by the director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium and Resort Treatment of the Population Gennady Bolbatovsky, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

According to Bolbatovsky, more than 90% of foreign tourists in Belarusian sanatoriums are Russian citizens. Thus, a holiday with pets (in pet-friendly format) is becoming more relevant against the background of high tourist demand.

“There is no official ban on accommodation with pets, this issue remains at the discretion of the management of a particular sanatorium,” he said. At the same time, the number of accommodation places ready to accept guests with pets in Belarus is constantly growing.

At the same time, as noted by the Director of the Republican center for health and sanatorium treatment of the population, most often against the presence of four-legged guests are not the owners of health resorts, and the vacationers themselves, as a joint stay creates many conventions and household nuances.

Bolbatovsky noted that in addition to cats and dogs, health resorts are ready to consider more exotic requests. Guests can live with birds in cages or bring fish with them in aquariums.

As for the statistics on the number of pet-friendly rooms and the dynamics of their growth, the specialist assured: The Republican Center for Rehabilitation and Sanatorium Treatment of the Population plans to collect the figures by the end of 2026.
