Broken bone, broken jaw. Doctors restored the face of Barnaul, who was run over by a boat
In Barnaul city hospital No5 in the summer of this year was a local resident with severe facial injuries. The man was run over by a motorboat, and the main blow took the face. Doctors meticulously connected the torn tissue and restored the appearance of the citizen.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Altai Territory, the incident occurred in July on the Ob River. A resident of Barnaul with his family and friends rested on the pond. After a motorboat ride, he dropped the children ashore and went to the opposite side to pick up a friend's belongings.
On the way, the ship came across an obstacle hidden under water. From a powerful blow Barnaul was thrown overboard, and the boat at maximum speed went in a circle. On the first turn, she ran over her owner.
From fatal injuries, the man was protected by a life jacket, so the chest and abdomen were not injured. But his face took a hit.
“The face was severely injured by the hull of the boat. I got multiple lacerations, fractures in both jaws, a bone over my eye. But I didn't lose consciousness and somehow came out. Luckily for me, a guy was upboarding nearby. I managed to swim to him, and he pulled me ashore, the townsman recalls.
After he was pulled ashore, the victim was urgently taken to Barnaul city hospital No. 5 and sent to the department of maxillofacial surgery. The doctors immediately realized that you can not delay. They promptly prepared the operating room and began multi-stage work on the restoration of tissues and bone structures.
“Roman had tissues in place, but the wound was torn and deep. Our challenge was to match all the elements millimeter by millimeter. It was painstaking, jewellery work: first, we properly stitched and stitched the damaged muscles, and then carefully restored the skin to its natural position. It was important not only to achieve anatomical accuracy, but also to preserve facial expressions, to ensure an aesthetic result in the future, said surgeon Hakob Hakobyan.
In total, the operation took a little more than two hours. The success of surgical intervention was also ensured by the work of anesthesiologist-resuscitator. The specialist competently selected anesthesia, which allowed to maintain a stable condition of the patient and create comfortable conditions for a complex operation.
After that, the patient spent 10 days in the department. For the restoration and proper fusion of the jaws, a special dental design was installed.
Currently, according to doctors, bones and soft tissues have grown impeccably, and the seams themselves turned out to be neat and almost imperceptible. The face of Barnaul looks almost the same as before the incident on the water. Then he is waiting for the stage of dental rehabilitation - to restore lost teeth in the accident.
