Fighting drones is the main trend in the Belarusian military-industrial complex. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee Dmitry Pantus on the air of the TV channel “Belarus 1”, reports sb.by.

Dmitry Pantus noted:
“We work closely with the Academy of Sciences. About 15 directions have been identified, they have been consolidated into a single plan and relevant work has been organized on them. The main trend in our field, of course, is the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles.”.
He said that some progress has already been made in this area. For example, the domestic Saffron complex has already been adopted. Work is underway to modernize it to improve tactical and technical characteristics.
“We are monitoring the situation: we must be constantly in trend. This means of electronic warfare, radar. Over the past six months, two of the most modern stations for determining low-flying targets of domestic production have also been adopted, he added.
Minister of Defense Viktor Khrenin noted that the forms and methods of warfare have changed, as evidenced by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Even 500 drones in the air at the same time are very small by modern standards.
“The numbers are in the tens of thousands, and we all have to fight that. A toy was invented, and it turned into a very formidable weapon that performs the lion’s share of the tasks of fire defeat on the battlefield. The whole world is looking for a recipe for how to deal with this, including us, he said.
