Surgical intervention planned for the coming days in the Roman clinic "Gemelli"

The head of the Roman Catholic Church Leo XIV announced the upcoming surgery. According to the pontiff, during recent examinations, doctors found a localized nodule in his lung. This is reported by Izvestia.
“It was detected at a very early stage and is well localized. Doctors consider the operation appropriate. Following their recommendations, I decided to remove it surgically, Leo XIV said after Sunday’s sermon in the Vatican.
Surgical intervention is planned for the coming days in the Roman clinic "Gemelli". Matteo Bruni, the director of the Holy See’s press service, said that the recovery period after the operation will take about a week.
The Pope thanked the faithful for their support and asked them to pray for him.
