Ulaanbaatar hosts the World Forum of Women Parliamentarians, dedicated to the theme “From representation to influence on decision-making”. The keynote speech at the plenary session of the forum was made by the Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development Natalia Pavlyuchenko, writes sb.by.

Natalia Pavlyuchenko presented the successful Belarusian experience, stressing that Belarus deservedly occupies a leading position in the region in terms of the representation of women in government bodies:
- Today, women make up more than a third of the country's parliamentary corps, lead key parliamentary commissions and make a significant contribution to strategic decision-making. In local self-government bodies, 48 per cent were women and 67 per cent were judges. One in two leaders is a woman. In five years, the share of women's entrepreneurship increased from 32 to 42 percent. This is the merit of the leadership of our country and the result of the far-sighted, wise and consistent policy of our President.
Natalia Pavlyuchenko added that women make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the state, participating in public life, preserving traditional spiritual and family values, strengthening the institution of the family.
The Belarusian parliamentarian emphasized that the true development of modern society is impossible without the active participation of women in the formation of state policy, the protection of traditional values and the strengthening of international bridges of peace, trust and solidarity.
- Of particular concern today are unilateral sanctions that destroy international trust and directly hit the most vulnerable segments of the population, primarily women and families, said Natalia Pavlyuchenko. We parliamentarians must overcome artificial barriers through parliamentary diplomacy, protect the social rights of citizens and return the world agenda to the principles of humanism and indivisible security.
