Pensioner from Bobrovsky district gave fraudsters 2.7 million rubles

Over the weekend, six residents of the region became victims of cybercriminals. The total damage exceeded 4 million rubles.

In the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Bobrovsky district appealed 76-year-old local resident. The woman was the victim of a classic, but no less brutal, phone fraud scheme.

According to the investigation, the pensioner called a false employee of the security service. The stranger said that money transfers were allegedly made on her behalf to an unfriendly state. The frightened woman was immediately rushed to “help”: a “lawyer of the banking supervisory committee” came into contact with her. He demanded to hand over all savings for authentication.

Believing the fraudsters, the pensioner withdrew from the account 2,775,000 rubles and handed over a package of money to a courier girl.

In fact, a criminal case was opened for fraud on an especially large scale.
