A pensioner from Volgograd received the status of a resident of the besieged Stalingrad

The 92-year-old resident of Volgograd received the status of “resident of besieged Stalingrad” only after the intervention of the Prosecutor’s office. Eleonora Nikolaevna Stepenko could not confirm her stay in the besieged city and applied to the supervisory authority.

Given the applicant’s age and state of health, the Volgograd prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit in her interests. The Agency conducted an inspection and collected evidence: archival documents, testimony and other materials.

Representatives of the prosecutor’s office asked to establish the fact that the pensioner was in the territory of Stalingrad from August 23, 1942 to February 2, 1943. The Central District Court granted the application, the decision was executed.

The regional prosecutor Denis Kostenko personally handed Eleonora Nikolaevna a sign “Resident of besieged Stalingrad” and a certificate. The prosecutor’s office also monitors the appointment of due payments and benefits.
