Penza holds first place in the PFD for livestock and poultry production

At the end of 2025, the Penza region headed the Volga Federal District on the index of agricultural production. The output amounted to 236.4 billion rubles, which brought the region sixth place in the Volga Federal District.

Livestock production is developing dynamically. In January-August 2026, the output of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) in farms of all categories increased by 6.0% compared to the same period of 2025, milk by 3.2%, eggs by 12.2%. According to the results of eight months, the region took first place in the Volga Federal District for the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter.

It is not the first year that the Penza region holds the championship in Russia in milk yield per cow in large agricultural organizations. The effective development of the industry is helped by the introduction of advanced technologies and the strengthening of the material and technical base of farmers.
