In the Penza region, new cases of fraud have been recorded, in which attackers not only try to steal the money of residents, but also persuade them to commit illegal actions. According to the press service of the city administration, the dangerous scheme was warned in the regional FSB.
According to the Agency, first Penza call unknown, posing as employees of management companies or associations of homeowners. Under the pretext of landscaping, they offer to transfer money to the specified details.
Then the person is contacted by other participants in the scheme, who pose as FSB officers. They claim that funds were transferred from the interlocutor’s bank card to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and demand that the money be sent to a so-called “safe account”.
The actions of fraudsters may not end there. Under the pretext of returning stolen funds, the attackers offer the victims to carry out various assignments.
In particular, we are talking about the collection and transfer of information about large enterprises in the region, as well as actions aimed at damaging military, transport or banking infrastructure.
The regional FSB believes that the attackers can act in the interests of Ukrainian nationalist armed groups.
Residents of the Penza region are urged to remain vigilant, not to fulfill the demands of unknown people and not to transfer money to details received during suspicious telephone conversations. When such calls are recommended to immediately stop communication.
