Penza residents will plant more than 50 thousand seedlings
In early October, the eighth All-Russian action to restore forests will be held in the Penza region

In early October, the eighth All-Russian action on forest restoration will be held in the Penza region. The event was organized with the support of Governor Oleg Melnichenko and is held within the framework of the national project “Environmental Well-being”.
It is planned that more than 50 thousand young trees will be planted on an area of 30 hectares. Currently, experts select sites for planting new forest crops and updating existing plantations.
The Governor stressed the importance of forests for the ecology and climate of the region, and noted the increase in the number of participants every year. The event is traditionally joined by students, schoolchildren, forestry workers, business representatives, authorities, public organizations and local residents.
The action “Save the forest” began in 2019 thanks to the efforts of ANO “Garden of Memory”, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the Federal Forestry Agency and the movement “Forest Volunteers”. Its ultimate goal is to plant 70 million trees in Russia by 2026.
Pensioners can take part in the action. Information about landing sites and registration can be found on the website preservemles.rf.
