Penza Library joined the project about the peoples of Russia in sign language
The Penza Regional Library for Children and Youth became a participant of the project “Peoples of the Great Country in Russian Sign Language”.

The Penza Regional Library for Children and Youth became a participant of the project “Peoples of the Great Country in Russian Sign Language”. It is designed for deaf, hard-of-hearing children, as well as for hearing children of deaf parents. The main goal is to show children from 10 to 17 years old how diverse and united the peoples of our country are. Children will be able to get closer to their peers through common classes: quests, quizzes and video essays about Russia.
The project is funded by the Presidential Grants Fund. In addition to Penza, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Simferopol, Yekaterinburg, Makhachkala, Vladikavkaz, Kazan and Ulan-Ude participate in it. Not only children, but also deaf guides, as well as specialists of libraries are involved in the work.
At the first stage, training webinars will be held for adults. They, like classes with children, will be recorded on video, provided with subtitles and posted on the Internet. The second stage is the All-Russian contest of video stories about the peoples of the Russian Federation in Russian Sign Language. The result will be the creation of a unique public resource that will make a significant contribution to inclusive education.
